Hiroyuki Kawamoto had a crush on a senior girl at school, Rie Mitsutani. She was nice to everyone, even a gloomy guy like him -- she even seemed to favor him.

One day after school he was walking home and saw Rie and a guy together. His blood ran cold with envy; how could she be dating!?

Later, while he agonized over how to get Rie, someone walking in front of him dropped their MP3 player.

He tried to flag the owner down but the guy kept going. So he browsed the playlists. The player had a hypnosis app of some kind in it.

If hypnosis were a thing, Kawamoto would totally use it on Rie. In fact, thought he didn't really believe it'd work, he was too obsessed not to try.
