"Mom, look what I won!"

What he'd won in a raffle was a pair of overnight stay vouchers for a seaside inn. Mom was innocently excited, but I was a little hesitant.

That's because, for a 38-year-old, my mother is incredibly youthful. And, though it's strange for a son to say, she's attractive. But she's also very gentle and easily swayed. She often can't refuse requests. There mustn't be any misunderstandings regarding relationships between men and women. (Going to the beach with Mom isn't bad, but I need to be careful…)

We arrived at the beach with Mom. Because I looked away for just a moment, my mother ended up being taken advantage of by a group of smooth-talking guys.
